Sharks@Canadiens

The San Jose Sharks lost to the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 at Bell Centre Saturday night. The Sharks came on strong despite a 3-0 lead by Les Habitants after the first. Early in the second Pavelski and Thornton scored in succession to bring the game within one. However the push wasn't enough. Since Boston had lost as well, this keeps San Jose and Boston tied for first overall. Detroit also loses to Nashville 8-0 which keeps them 3 points behind regardless of this loss. The Sharks come back home to play Dallas on the 3rd of March. Lets cheer them on! Go Sharks!!!

Wi-fi and public transit on Oahu.

We need wi-fi on public transit here in Honolulu County. It would take the stress out of commute on public trans. I know many would take advantage since most have wi-fi capable devices. I for one have an iPod Touch and PSP which I can't use (gave it up for Lent) let alone a notebook computer. This just might increase ridership. I for one am for it

Protest Kellogg's

I urge you to protest the Kellogg's brand and refrain from buying any of their brand name cereals. Because of recent events highlighting Michael Phelps and Kellogg s dropping him from their endorsement, this cereal brand should be punished for not looking at the facts. They should have waited to see if such charges could be filed against him (if there was any evidence to prove what he was doing was illegal. However, they did not, they drew a conclusion and dropped him. Ask Kellogg's this: can anyone man or woman be perfect? The answer is no. No one person can ever be perfect, that's what makes life interesting. In my mind Kellogg's should have looked at the facts and get them clear before dropping Phelp's. What they expect is something that no person can acheive, I don't think the upper echelons are that perfect either. So I call for a boycott of this brand until they get it together and come back to reality, and more importantly apologize to Phelp's.

Sharks@Dallas

Sharks defeated the Dallas Stars 1-0 Monday night at American Airlines Center. The win gives 91 points in the standings. Nabokov got the shut out when Setoguchi broke the score less tie at 12:05 with assists by Ryane Clowe and Christian Ehrhoff. The game was much dominated on the shot clock for the first two periods by the Dallas Stars. Both goalies took centerstage by keeping his team in the game by making incredible saves. When it went down to the wire with an empty net for Dallas a block from Blake and impressive athletic moves from Nabby, the Sharks prevented Dallas from tieing thus clenching the victory.

Thrashers@Sharks

The San Jose Sharks defeat the Atlanta Thrashers 3-1 at H.P. Pavilion, Satuday afternoon. The game was scoreless for the first two periods until Ryane Clowe started a early Third Period rally. Jeremy Roenick gets his 700th career assist on Cheech's goal after a 10 week injury absence. The Sharks add to their lead in the West with89 points in the standings. Go Sharks and a big congrats to JR!!!

Atlanta@Sharks

Well Atlanta is going to play the Sharks at 1pm PST in H.P. Pavilion. Don't assume that this is an easy game as Kovalchuk and company has ripped apart both our rivals from SoCal. Expect this to be a good hockey game, maybe down to the wire; maybe not. But expect the unexpected and cheer the Sharks on. Go Sharks!!!

What's up with the $0.99, $1.99, $2.99, etc.?; weather, and what to do

It should be understood that this is a ploy used by retaliers to make things cheaper then they seem. Consumers think oh $1.99, I must be saving. Truth is you're only saving a penny and these days a penny isn't worth that much. Heck the dollar ain't worth face value anymore since our economy has been tanking, the past eight years (Big props go out to President Obama for trying to fix what has been ruined). I say to retailers just round that amount up a dollar. I mean who wants to keep a penny, the reason why people pay by credit or debit card is because change is a hassle. The last time saving a penny a day was in my eyes worth it was (I thank the History Channel for this information) in 1908: U.S. Postage stamps are sold for the very first time at a penny a piece. I am going to buy an iPod Touch this weekend because I need something to do while on the bus. The current state of weather here in Honolulu: it is raining and it is about 76 degrees. Which is very contradictory; not the temperature but whats going on, the tradewinds were supposed to blow clouds away. It was only supposed to rain Windward not Leeward but I guess Hawaiian weather is hard to predict.

Oilers@Sharks, Ancient Greece and the Cardiovascuscular System

The San Jose Sharks defeated the Edmonton Oilers 4-2 at HP Pavilion Tuesday night. This increases their lead in the West with 85 points. With goals by Pavelski, two shorties by the Captain, one by Jumbo Joe and an amazing performance by Nabby, we put a little bigger cushion between us and the Detroit Red Wings. All this while I am studying for a Biology mid-term and a History: World Civ. quiz.

my day today

much of the same. its freakin boring to live here in the suburbs in Honolulu. I don't have a car and have to relay on the public transit to get me to where I want to go i.e., TheBus. The problem is this is that I have to follow the schedule of when the buses come and go and not my own schedule which I would kill to enjoy. I wish I was independent, I want to live closer to town i.e., Honolulu and on my own. I believe need independence because I feel I don't get respected as an adult where I am currently established. I feel as though I am treated as a hopeless kid, I am not. One thing to be clear about I am not being raised by no one. I raise myself, although I am provided a bed to sleep on and dinner on my plate, I am in no way being raised by anyone. I am being financially supported by my parents, only they lay the claim to raising me right now. If you look at the situation, I help myself with homework while trying to get help over the phone from my Dad, I eat lunch at campus on my own, I go to school on my own accord, and if I want to go somewhere: the mall, the beach, or the Arizona Memorial for instance; I do this on my own. I am financially supported by my parents and not by anyone I currently live with. To say that the people I live with although my extended family raise me is a false claim. I am provided a home and food, not anything else that would come close to be called raising i.e, what you get from your parents. I consult my decision making with my parents and nobody else, so the answer to who"s raising me: my parents are. I want to go back to San Jose right now, don't care what others feel, its what I want and my parents and little sister need me to be there. i made a mistake of coming here and i don't enjoy being here. I know I was the envy of my graduating class for being here but i would gladly trade places with those who stayed home in California. Being on an island is not as fun is living in a place with open road, meaning from the Bay, I could take the highway to Seattle or even New York. Being surrounded by ocean, you gotta fly or own a submarine. I miss my friends, my nuclear family, and i miss being in my home state. i feel as though I am having to adjust to my extended family more so than they are adjusting to me, so I want out. Going to class, listening to my professors lecture, taking on the phone to my nuclear family keeps my mind off of my current state of boredom/unhappiness. Doing homework is fine too, however I can't do it in this house, its do damn noisy; not a great place for a college student to study, read, etc.. I have decided on days I don't tutor I will go to the state library in downtown to study and do homework, its more quiet and so I don't have to suffer through distractions. Either that or stay at my school's library. The latter might be better but we'll see. I am definitely doing one or the other, I just can't stand to do hmwk at my place of habitance.

Mt. Leahi or Diamond Head (in the distance) from corner of Ala Moana Blvd and Ward Ave.

Another Trip, Another Thought

I went again to Ala Moana Center and then walked to Ward Centers on Auahi Street. As I was in Sears at Ala Moana, I thought of life before college, my years in high school and even in middle school. One person that came to mind during those years was this girl that I had fallen for in the 6th grade. My first day of my 6th grade year I was waiting in class (it was minutes before the late bell was to ring) and she walked through the door. It was then I figured out how I was gonna get through this transition, that was to get through it with her. Never had the guts to ask her out that year and then the next I found out that one of my closest friends had a thing for her too. To not make a great friendship go astray, I kept to myself. Not that much later, she started goin out with someone. I carried my feelings about her through high school; never once had that chance (still was dating someone). By the time graduation became a reality, I thought, just forget because we're all going our separate ways. However just recently, the thought of her has gotten stronger (she was on my mind when I was at Ala Moana). I was talking to my sister and she said that maybe this is a way of my mind creating a virtual reality that includes her in my life. She then explained that maybe my mind was fixated on her because in reality and I quote Santana when I say that I haven't found that someone 'that makes me feel alive'. Hopefully I can find that someone that "I know in the end", will never leave.- I'm Feeling You-Santana f/ Michelle Branch & The Wreckers. If you needed to know what college/university she goes to its SJSU, the school I hope to transfer to at the end. Well the Sharks lost today in regulation to the New Jersey Devils 6-5. This keeps our losing streak at 3, the previous two were in in Shootout. However, not all is bad, Detroit lost to Colorado so we still have that two point lead, had they won, both teams would be tied for the first time. This ends our five game road trip on a sour note but they go back home to play Edmonton on Tuesday, Go Sharks!!!

On Valentine's Day 2009

Well for the special day that should be dedicated also to Singles as Single's Recognition Day, I went to the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu. Ala Moana is the largest outdoor shopping mall in the world. It is mostly a mall for tourists but you do find locals shopping there too. There's lots to do with four levels of shopping and two places to eat Makai Market and Ho'o'kipa Terrace with a great variety of restaurants. I went to the Apple Store, Sears and Shirokiya(A specialty store) for the latest in electronics, I plan to get an iPod Touch. After I took the bus to Downtown to transfer onto 54. Beretania and Punchbowl is the corner where the Hawaii State Capital is. Beautiful building, with a likeness of a volcano. An island in the middle of a pool, which resembles the Pacific Ocean.

Reality sucks

Because iam still in traffic, I will miss the game. damn

Honolulu Traffic

Traffic here in Honolulu County is awful. There are very few alternates and too many cars. Its bad both directions town bound and ewa bound. Something has to be done but there is no funds or hardly any. I bring this up because as of right now while on the bus, I am stuck in traffic. I might miss the Sharks game, this would be my first in a long while.

Current state of life

Well gotta wait for the 54 Lower Pearl City bus again. The Upper PC bus passed by so its comin soon. Tutoring was great today, my kid was very enthusiatic for some reason. Like always i wait at the far corner of Liliha & King Sts. Wanna go home to watch the Sharks game, score ain't looking so good right now but i have confidence. Currently the weather ain't looking that good but at least the trade winds are blowing-

Sharks@Sabres

Today @ 4:30 PST. The Sharks will take on the Buffalo Sabres in Buffalo. This gives the Sharks a chance to get back to winning ways and increase their lead in the West and catch Boston for overall.

Some more random thoughts

I wanna move back to my home state of California. Don't get me wrong, i like living here in Hawaii but it just doesn't feel like home for me. i lived here for nearly six months and met great people but i still want to go home to the Bay. however i do enjoy the experience of living here, its every mainlander's dream. got a yr and a half left before i move back, I've decided to transfer to San Jose State University where a large percentage of my graduating class goes. Don't think this defeats the purpose of being here. i don't think so. it is an experience of a lifetime being here.

Random Thoughts

Next class is @ 1pm hst, im pretty bored. hungry but not enough cash on hand. gotta wait till i get home to eat. the weather is not looking all that great. got a flood advisory for the county. there was a tornado in Kapolei yesterday, very rare occurence. only one injured and minor damaged sustained. the bus ride to Pearl City aint all that great. too bumpy too long too many stops. i need a car but i don't have the cash. college life is hard, but i'll get through it. sick of people treatin me like a kid. i'm 18 that makes me an adult. so treat me like one. @ school i'm an adult, elsewhere i'm not so sure.

Sean Avery

With Sean Avery clearing waivers and the Dallas Stars looking to get rid of him? Which team will pick him up and if none of the other teams take a chance on him, we will be looking at him being sent to the minors. This arrangement will most likely not work out; if he can't calm down a hot head in the NHL, can he do so in the AHL?

Why transperency in Gov't is a good idea

This is what I had heard from my professor: A CEO of possibly Merrill Lynch had purchased a $14000 trashcan with the gov't bailout signed by Bush(this was not what it was for). This is why President Obama's call for transparency in gov't is a good idea, we must know where our tax dollars are going.
